Canon EOS R6 V firmware v1.1.0 finally adds flash support

Canon has released firmware version 1.1.0 for the EOS R6 V and the EOS R6 Mark III, and for R6 V owners it delivers the feature many have been waiting for since launch: flash support. When the R6 V was announced back in May, Canon confirmed that external flash support would follow in a firmware update rather than being available out of the box — and this is the company making good on that promise. Both updates are available now from the Canon UK support pages. For the EOS R6 V, the headline addition is support for external flash units, bringing with it flash firing, E-TTL balance, E-TTL II metering, slow synchro, flash function settings and flash custom function settings.
