Sigma has announced the full-frame 17mm F4 DG DN | C and 50mm F2 DG DN | C I series lenses for L-Mount and Sony E-mount, and the 23mm F1.4 DC DN | C for APS-C format cameras with the L-Mount, Sony E-mount and Fujifilm X Mount.
All three optics are Contemporary lenses which means they are very portable but have a high standard of build and image quality.
As I series lenses the Sigma 17mm F4 DG DN C and 50mm F2 DG DN C have an all-metal barrel and a dedicated aperture ring as well as a manual focus ring. They come with a magnetic metal lens cap, and standard front lens cap, a rear cap and a metal lens hood (petal-shaped in the case of the 17mm lens).

The Sigma 17mm F4 DG DN C has a maximum aperture of f/4 and weighs just 225g, making it ideal for landscape, travel and street photography. It’s constructed from 9 elements in 8 groups with 2 SLD (Special Low dispersion) and 3 aspherical lens elements.

Meanwhile the 50mm F2 DG DN C weighs 350g and is made of 11 elements in 9 groups with 1 SLD and 3 aspherical lens elements.
Sigma uses 13 elements arranged in 10 groups with 3 SLD and 2 aspherical elements in the APS-C format 23mm F1.4 DC DN C. It has a maximum aperture of F/1.4, giving plenty of scope to isolate a subject from its background.

All three lenses use a stepping motor for autofocusing. With a closest focusing distance of 12cm, the 17mm F4 DG DN C lets you get the nearest to a subject. However, the APS-C format 23mm lens can focus on subjects as close as 25cm and the 50mm lens’ nearest focus point is 45cm.
