Hollyland MELO P1 launches all-in-one wireless studio

Hollyland has expanded beyond its familiar wireless microphone systems with the launch of the MELO P1, an all-in-one wireless recording solution that aims to put an entire portable music studio into a single compact carrying case. Designed for musicians, singers, live streamers and content creators, the MELO P1 combines a condenser microphone, an ultra-lightweight smart mixer, monitoring earphones and a wireless remote into one integrated ecosystem.

Having built a strong reputation among filmmakers and content creators with products such as the LARK wireless microphone range, Hollyland is now taking that expertise into music production. While this is clearly aimed at singers and performers first, there’s also plenty here that could appeal to video creators looking for a compact solution for live streaming, mobile production or performance recording.

At the heart of the system is a smart mixer weighing just 55g. Despite its compact size, it incorporates a dual-DSP architecture capable of mixing up to four audio sources simultaneously, including two wireless microphones, a 3.5mm instrument input and a Bluetooth audio source for backing tracks. Hollyland says the entire system uses a 32-bit digital signal path to minimise latency while maintaining stable wireless performance.

The supplied condenser microphone features a large 1-inch diaphragm together with a shock-absorbing acoustic chamber and AI-powered noise cancellation designed to reduce unwanted background sounds during recording. Monitoring is handled via a pair of custom-tuned earphones fitted with 10mm drivers, allowing performers to hear both themselves and their backing tracks in real time.

Wireless connectivity is central to the MELO P1’s design. The microphone and monitoring earphones communicate over a dedicated 2.4GHz wireless connection with a quoted operating range of up to 60 metres in open environments, while Bluetooth provides connectivity for the included remote control and music playback devices at distances of up to 10 metres.

Audio processing is managed through the HollyAudio smartphone app, which includes more than 100 presets covering vocals, live performance and spoken content. Users can also access nine studio-style audio effects for more detailed sound shaping, allowing the system to adapt to a variety of recording styles without requiring external processing hardware.

Battery performance is equally impressive on paper. Hollyland quotes up to eight hours from the mixer, nine hours from the monitoring earphones and up to 12 hours from the microphone. The supplied charging case stores enough power for approximately three additional charging cycles, extending total operating time to around 40 hours. USB-C Power Delivery charging at up to 60W helps minimise downtime between recording sessions.

From a Camera Jabber perspective, the MELO P1 feels like a natural extension of Hollyland’s creator ecosystem. While musicians are the obvious target audience, many of the features translate directly to video production, podcasting and live streaming. If you’ve followed our coverage of Hollyland’s LARK wireless microphone systems, the MELO P1 represents a more comprehensive creator platform rather than simply another wireless microphone. It certainly looks like an interesting option for hybrid creators who regularly move between video, livestreaming and music production, although we’ll reserve final judgement until we’ve had the opportunity to test one ourselves.
