Canon has welcomed 25 new photographers and filmmakers into its EMEA Ambassador programme for 2026, and three of them are based in the UK: landscape and nature photographer Jack Lodge, destination wedding photographer Rebecca Carpenter and videographer Rowan Johnson.

Two of the three are from our part of the country. Jack is based in the south-west of England, where he works as a professional photographer, educator and speaker, photographing landscapes and wildlife with an eye for light, atmosphere and the changing seasons. Canon says his work covers the whole creative process, from planning and time in the field through to processing and the final print.

Rowan is managing director of Southpoint Films, a video production company based in Southampton. His work spans marketing films, multicam shoots and complex live events.

Rebecca is an award-winning UK destination wedding photographer with nine years’ experience shooting around the world. She’s known for emotive, joyful images with an editorial feel, and she also teaches, with a YouTube channel and one-to-one and group mentoring for other photographers.

The programme started in 2008 and brings together photographers and videographers from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. New Ambassadors are nominated by Canon offices across the region and assessed by an independent panel of 16 industry experts. The panel looks at the strength and impact of each candidate’s work, their creative voice, values and innovation, and their contribution to the wider imaging community.

It’s good to see education running through all three choices. Each of the new UK Ambassadors teaches in some form, and that matters for anyone trying to make a start in landscape, wedding or video work.
