The Fujifilm VF-GFXC2, the dedicated electronic viewfinder for the GFX ETERNA 55 filmmaking camera, is now available to pre-order. Fuji Rumors reports that the viewfinder is listed at $1,650 at B&H.

Fujifilm announced the VF-GFXC2 on 8 September and showed its final design at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam. It gives GFX ETERNA 55 operators a proper eye-level viewfinder rather than relying on a monitor.

Specifications

The VF-GFXC2 uses a 0.64-inch OLED panel with a native 4:3 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2048 x 1536. Fujifilm quotes a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a magnification of 1.0x.

It has a machined aluminium body, a large eyecup, a dioptre adjustment dial and function buttons for display magnification and focus peaking. It connects to the camera via a dedicated ETERNA Multi-Pin connector and mounts using a 1/4in-20 thread. According to Fujifilm’s US store, it measures 74.1 x 71.3 x 123.3mm and weighs 370g.

“Viewfinders have long provided a mode of isolation for camera operators to place their focus on image composition,” said John Blackwood, Director of Brand & Product Marketing at FUJIFILM North America Corporation.

Our take

Fuji Rumors picks up on a point made by CineD: with high-quality cinema EVFs in short supply, a viewfinder with these specs could sell well beyond GFX ETERNA 55 owners if Fujifilm ever made it compatible with other cameras. For now it’s an ETERNA-only accessory, using the camera’s own connector.
