Godox has added the LITEMONS SR20R to its LITEMONS range of lights for content creators. It’s a full-colour LED panel with an opening in the middle, so a smartphone or small camera can be mounted in the centre of the light for evenly lit, face-on video – the same idea as a ring light, but in a rectangular panel with more mounting options.

Light output and colour

The SR20R offers a colour temperature range of 2800-6500K with 0-100% dimming, plus a green/magenta adjustment of -50% to +50%. RGB colour is freely adjustable, and there are 14 built-in effects including candlelight, lightning, fireworks and TV flicker.

Godox quotes a CRI and TLCI of around 96, and a maximum output of 1,510 lux at 0.5m at 5600K.

Built for phone and camera rigs

A supplied smartphone clip and a sliding 1/4in adapter allow a phone or camera to be fixed in the centre of the panel. There are three 1/4in threads for mounting the light horizontally or vertically, built-in kickstands for tabletop use, and three cold shoes for adding a microphone or other accessories.

The light can be controlled using onboard controls or over Bluetooth, with a range of up to 10m. Godox also lists camera functions for iOS and Android, including shutter trigger, focus, recording and lens switching.

Battery

Power comes from a built-in 7.26V 4800mAh (34.848Wh) battery, which Godox says delivers around 1 hour 30 minutes at full brightness. Charging via USB-C takes around 2 hours 20 minutes, and the port supports 5V 3A and 9V 3A. The panel measures 290 x 40 x 220mm and weighs around 623g without accessories.

Our take

Putting a phone in the middle of the light is a simple way to get flattering, even light for talking-head video, and the triple cold shoes make it easy to build a complete compact rig around it. At this price, it’s an affordable option for vloggers and anyone recording video calls or tutorials.
