Xiaomi has announced the launch of its latest flagship smartphone range, the Xiaomi 14 Series, during an event in Barcelona. This release underscores Xiaomi’s commitment to redefining the mobile imaging sector, a journey bolstered by its strategic partnership with Leica since 2022.
The Xiaomi 14 Series, consisting of Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra, integrates Leica Summilux optics. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra, as the flagship model, particularly stands out with its state-of-the-art features.
The Ultra model captivates with its unique circular camera module, reminiscent of traditional camera designs, and is available in Black and White. It’s constructed using the robust Xiaomi Guardian Structure, which includes a high-strength aluminium frame, nano-tech vegan leather, and Shield Glass, ensuring increased durability and aesthetic appeal.
The device boasts a C8 WQHD+ 6.73″ AMOLED display, offering stunning visuals with a resolution of 3200 x 1440, a pixel density of 522 ppi, and a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness of 3000 nits and the innovative All Around Liquid Display technology enhances the user experience with seamless curvature on all sides.
Photography-wise, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra shines with its professional quad-camera setup, covering a broad range of focal lengths from 12mm to 120mm. The main camera features a ƒ/1.63-ƒ/4.0 stepless variable aperture and a large 1-inch LYT-900 image sensor, delivering exceptional image quality in various lighting conditions. All four cameras support 8K 30fps shooting, with Leica optics ensuring unparalleled clarity in video capture.
The Xiaomi 14, designed as a compact daily companion, features a curved back panel for comfortable handling and an ultra-thin bezel for an immersive viewing experience. Its 6.36″ CrystalRes AMOLED 1.5K screen, with a density of 460ppi and a peak brightness of 3000 nits, offers crisp and clear visuals.
The camera system of Xiaomi 14 includes Leica Summilux optical lenses with a main camera boasting an upgraded ƒ/1.6 aperture and a Light Fusion 900 image sensor. This setup provides a dynamic range of up to 13.5 EV, ensuring high-quality photography across a wide focal range from 14mm to 75mm.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, both new phones promise enhanced CPU and GPU performance with reduced power consumption. The Xiaomi IceLoop cooling system ensures smooth operation under high-performance scenarios.
