Venus Optics has announced the Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine, price tag $699, the world’s widest Super35 prime lens.
Offering a wide angle of view of 123 degrees, the Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine provides a broad perspective and is designed for shooting in limited space or for filming establishing shots.
As one of Venus Optics’ Zero-D lenses, it provides minimal distortion, which is useful for filming indoor footage.
The Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine offers close focusing distances of just 25cm, allowing filmmakers to capture extreme close-ups or scenes with shallow depth of field.
The Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine is comprised of 16 elements in 10 groups, with two Extra-low Dispersion elements and two aspherical elements to reduce chromatic aberration. The compact, lightweight lens weighs just 610g and measures 80.7mm long.
The new Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine is available in Sony E, Canon RF, Nikon Z and Fujifilm X mounts and is available now.
