Venus Optics’ new Laowa 14mm f/4 Zero-D for Fujifilm GFX cameras will have a price tag of $1,199 and a release date set for mid-August.
Designed for Fujifilm’s mirrorless medium format GFX system, the Laowa 17mm f/4 Zero-D is a 13.5mm equivalent ultra-wide-angle lens aimed at landscape and architectural photographers.
The Laowa 17mm f/4 becomes the fourth lens in Venus Optics’ Zero-D range, which is named after its claim to provide a ‘close-to-zero optical distortion rate.’
Inside the lens’s optical construction consists of 21 elements in 14 groups, and it’s five-blade aperture can create a 10-point sunstar rendering. What’s more, its front element is designed without the bulge often found on other ultra-wide-angle lenses so that you can use screw-on filters with its 86mm filter thread.
The Laowa 17mm f/4 Zero-D can also focus as close as 20cm from the subject.
