Tamron has announced the development of three new lenses, introducing the 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD (Model A043), SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD (Model F045) and 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A046).
The 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD and 35mm f/1.4 Di USD are both designed for use with full-frame DSLRs, while the 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD will be for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras.
Tamron said it will show off all three lenses at the CP+ show in Japan at the end of this month. Price and full specs will be revealed at a later date. As of now, this is what we know…
35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD
The 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD is a fast portrait zoom designed for travel, offering f/2.8 at the wide-angle end of its focal range and f/4 at the telephoto.
Its close focusing distance is 0.45m across the entire zoom range, and it uses Tamron’s Dual Micro-Processing Unit (MPU) to improve AF performance and compensate for shake.
It also incorporates Low Dispersion glass elements and aspherical lenses in its interior design to help reduce optical aberrations.
SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD
Designed for strong bokeh, the latest addition to Tamron’s SP lens range is designed to be an all-rounder for everything from landscapes to weddings to street photography.
17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD
Tamron’s new mirrorless lens for Sony E-mount cameras is compact and lightweight and delivers a fast f/2.8 aperture throughout its focal range.
Minimum focusing distance is 0.19m, and the 17-28mm f/2.8 employs Tamron’s Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive (RXD) stepping motor unit for quiet operation while filming video.
