Skylum has released Luminar 4, the latest version of it flagship photo editing software, which introduces a new Sky Replacement tool.

Dubbed the AI Sky Enhancer filter, the new sky replacement tool aims to add colour and depth to flat or over-blown skies.

Luminar’s sky replacement tool uses AI to detect not only the sky, but other objects within the scene.

The Sky Enhancer tool then removes haloes and artefacts and other distortions so that the new sky fits the rest of your image int terms of exposure and colour using new ‘scene relight technology’ that makes the new sky look like it was photographed within the same conditions.

Luminar 4’s Sky Enhancer tools also automatically detects the horizon line in your image and replaces the sky as realistically as possible.

Skylum Luminar 4 will be released this autumn. You can pre-order the software at Skylum’s website.

Skylum says Luminar 4 price information will be released at a later date.
