Sennheiser has announced a second-generation version of its MKE 400 shotgun microphone for cameras and smartphones.
Sennheiser has updated the microphone’s design with new integrated wind protection and three-stage gain control.
The MKE 400 boasts a super-cardioid polar pattern and also promises a running time of up to 100 hours from just two AAA batteries.
Other new features in the upgrade include swappable 3.5mm TRS and TRRS output cables, an auto-power function and a 3.5mm headphone port with volume control.
The MKE 400 is also compatible with Sennheiser’s CL 35 USB-C cable (sold separately) for a direct connection to a mobile device’s USB Type-C port.
The Sennheiser MKE 400 price tag is £249 / $199 and is available from retailers such as B&H Photo Video, Amazon UK and Amazon US.
