Nikon has announced the Z30, price tag from £699, a new small and portable APS-C format mirrorless camera aimed at vloggers.

Aimed at people who want to take a step up from shooting with their smartphone, the Nikon Z30 boasts a 20.9-megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor and can record 4K UHD video.

Vloggers can record up to 125 minutes of uninterrupted video in Full HD at up to 25p with the Nikon Z30 or 35 minutes of 4K video. Users will also benefit from Video AF mode with full-time autofocus when shooting action or first-person vlogs.

What’s more, the Z30’s vari-angle touchscreen allows you to self-shoot and has a self-portrait mode that clears the screen when you flip the monitor towards your face.

The Z30 also features a built-in stereo mic and a port to connect an external microphone. The new Nikon camera also comes with a USB-C cable that you can use to provide constant power to the Z30, charging it

Like the full-frame Z series cameras, the Nikon Z30 comes equipped with Nikon’s Eye- and Animal-Detection AF modes, and both are available in video mode as well as stills.

When it comes to stills, the Nikon Z30 can shoot 11fps in its continuous shooting mode with full AF/AE. Other features include 20 Creative Picture Controls, or in-camera filters which are customisable and available for both video and stills.
