Today Lexar has announced the release of the new Professional CFexpress Type A Card Gold Series. This new range of cards is aimed at professional photographers and videographers who need to capture high-resolution images and cinema quality 8K video and need a fast, robust and reliable storage solution.
The new Gold series cards are an ideal fit for cameras like the Sony A7S III and provide read speeds of up to 900MB/s and write speeds of 800MB/s. The cards meet the VPG 400 standard; which gives you the reassurance that these cards offer the transfer rates to enable you to capture high-quality images, 8K, 4K and 120fps footage without having to worry about dropped frames or corrupt data. The Video Performance Grade (VPG) 400 label simply means that these cards have a minimum sustained write speed of 700MB/s, more than enough to keep up with the demands of the latest cameras.
As well as being optimised for speed, the cards have also been developed to be robust. Each card is durable and able to withstand temperature, shock and vibrations.
If you’re shooting at high resolutions, you need a card with both the speed and capacity to keep up with the action. The new Professional CFexpressTM Type A Card Gold Series are available in capacities up to 160GB.

Lexar Professional CFexpress Type A / SDTM USB 3.2 Gen 2 Reader
Alongside the Lexar Professional CFexpress Type A Card Gold Series launch comes the Lexar Professional CFexpress Type A / SD USB 3.2 Gen 2 Reader. This new compact card reader features a CFExpress Type-A and SD card slot.
The new reader has been designed to mirror the speeds of the cards that it has been designed to read and, as such, connects through the latest USB Type-C connection.
This USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB Type-C connection to your computer enables transfer speeds of up to 900MB/s from the CFExpress Type-A cards and up to 312MB/s from UHS-II SD cards.
The slim, robust metal and tough plastic outer has been designed to withstand use by professional users and will be durable enough to withstand a knock or two in the kit bag.
