Shipments of cameras worldwide recorded their worst October totals, according to statistics released by the Camera & Imaging Products Association.
Compared to October 2016, CIPA reports that camera shipments are down some 13%, with DSLRs heading that decline, deteriorating by 22%.
Shipments of mirrorless cameras did, however, rise, increasing 12% over October 2016. And CIPA reports that mirrorless cameras now make up some 36% of the global market for interchangeable lens cameras.
Most mirrorless camera shipments are going to Asia.
