CamRanger has announced the CamRanger 2, price tag £429.99 / $349.99, which is an updated version of the popular device for wireless remote control of your camera that now adds support or Sony and Fujifilm cameras.
The original CamRanger is compatible only with Canon and Nikon DSLRs, but is now expanded to support mirrorless cameras from Sony and Fujifilm. Click here to see the full list of cameras compatible with CamRanger 2.
CamRanger has also doubled the range in its second version, expanding its reach from 250 feet to 500 feed.
You’ll find support for 5Ghz wireless networking, and its battery is larger in the CamRanger 2 than in the original. However, its worth noting that despite the bigger battery, its life per charge has decreased from six to five hours.
The CamRanger 2 also gets a handful of additional features, such as a ‘quick RAW’ viewing mode, image rating, video previewing, downloading, editing tools and the option to save content directly to an SD card.
The CamRanger 2’s on-board SD card slot will also automatically backup your camera’s memory card and allows recording of client ratings and organising of images.
CamRanger 2 App
CamRanger has also released the CamRanger 2 App for iOS and Android devices, as well as Mac and Windows computers. The app allows users to remotely view images as they are taken or browse through all images on your camera’s memory card.
The App also allows for remote adjustment of camera settings, including focus and remote firing of the shutter. Other features include image editing and cropping, and advanced functions such as automatically calculated focus stacking, focus point presets, quick RAW and barcode workflows.
