Godox has updated one of its most popular compact flashguns with the TT350II ThinkLite, and the headline change is a hybrid hot shoe that works across multiple camera systems. Rather than buying a version for your specific camera brand, a single unit covers Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, OM System and Panasonic, with a separate TT350II S model for Sony.

That’s a genuinely useful change for anyone who shoots with more than one system, or who might switch brands in the future, and at its price it makes the TT350II an easy flash to keep in the bag.

What’s new on the TT350II

Beyond the hybrid shoe, the TT350II gets an upgraded HD colour display with redesigned buttons, replacing the more basic rear interface on the original TT350. There’s also a built-in LED modelling lamp rated at 5300K, which doubles as focus assist and lets you preview the direction of light before you take the shot.

The flash head has been redesigned too, now rotating 270 degrees horizontally and tilting from -7 to 120 degrees, so bouncing off walls and ceilings is easier. A built-in bounce card and pull-out wide-angle diffuser are included.

Wireless X built in

As you’d expect from Godox, the TT350II is fully integrated with its 2.4GHz Wireless X system, and can act as either a transmitter or receiver across 32 channels with a quoted range of around 100m. That means it can trigger other Godox lights off-camera, or sit off-camera itself as part of a larger setup. TTL, manual, high-speed sync up to 1/8000 sec, front and rear-curtain sync and multi stroboscopic modes are all supported.

Power comes from two AA batteries, and Godox quotes around 210 flashes and a 2.5-second recycle time with 2500mAh NiMH cells. That’s a trade-off against Godox’s lithium-ion models, but AAs are easy to find and swap.
