WANDRD is expanding its two most popular bags rather than replacing them. On 29 September the company launches a set of accessories for the PRVKE backpack and the ROGUE sling, adding organisation, weather protection and external carry to bags plenty of photographers already own. Details will be on the WANDRD website.
The sensible thing about this launch
There is a quiet virtue in a manufacturer improving a bag you already have instead of asking you to buy a new one. Everything here bolts onto an existing PRVKE or ROGUE, which means the money you spent on the bag keeps earning rather than being superseded a year later. For a camera bag — an item people keep for years and grow genuinely attached to — that is the right approach.
For the PRVKE backpack
Three additions. The PRVKE Organization Pocket ($59) attaches to the front and adds zippered security with mesh and zip pockets for everyday essentials. The Tech Panel Large ($34) slides into the front for chargers, cables and small accessories, with stretch pockets and zippered storage. And the Premium Bungee Accessory Straps ($59, in WANDRD Red, website exclusive) add external carry using bungee cord, metal Splitlock hardware and a Fidlock magnetic buckle, attaching horizontally to the front webbing loops.
The tech panel is the one most photographers will reach for. The single most useful thing a camera bag can do beyond holding cameras is organise the nest of cables, chargers and batteries that otherwise migrate to the bottom, and a dedicated panel that slots in and out is a tidy answer.
For the ROGUE sling
The ROGUE gets the broader set. Two Rainfly covers — 4L at $34, and 6L/9L at $39 — deploy quickly to shield the sling from rain, which for a bag designed to be worn across the body outdoors is a genuinely practical addition rather than an afterthought. The ROGUE Accessory Pocket ($34) adds zippered organisation to the front, the Tech Panel Small ($29) brings low-profile cable storage inside, and the ROGUE Premium Accessory Straps ($34) add vertical external carry with metal hardware and magnetic quick-release buckles.
The Rainfly is the standout here. Sling bags are inherently more exposed than a backpack, sitting out on your hip, and a dedicated rain cover addresses a real weakness of the format for anyone shooting British weather.
Our take
None of this is dramatic, and it is not meant to be. It is a sensibly priced set of add-ons that make two well-regarded bags more useful, and the pricing — mostly $29 to $59 — keeps it in impulse territory rather than requiring a decision. The obvious limitation is colour: almost everything is black only, with the red bungee straps the sole exception, so anyone wanting the accessories to match a non-black bag is out of luck.
For existing PRVKE and ROGUE owners, these are exactly the kind of low-cost upgrades worth a look. For anyone else, they are a reason to consider the bags themselves, knowing the system now extends further than it did.
