Wacom has announced the release of its newly redesigned Intuos Pro, the latest iteration of its flagship pen tablet. Used by leading illustrators, photo editors, videographers, and 3D artists, the Intuos Pro 2025 introduces Pro Pen 3 technology, improved tactile controls, and a refined design tailored for today’s creative workflows.

A balance of precision and creative flow

Digital art demands both technical accuracy and a seamless creative experience. The new Intuos Pro is designed to help artists move effortlessly between precision work and fluid artistic expression. Wacom’s latest updates include Pro Pen 3, the same technology found in the Cintiq Pro displays. The pen is now fully customisable, allowing users to adjust the grip size, weight, and button configuration to suit their preferred workflow. Its battery-free design ensures uninterrupted use, while the inclusion of a slip-resistant rubber nib improves accuracy and reduces pen wear.

Recognising the evolving needs of digital professionals, Wacom has relocated ExpressKeys and touch controls to the top of the tablet, introducing a more intuitive layout. The medium and large models now include two dials, while the small size features one, offering precise, tactile control over settings such as brush size and zoom. These dials are ambidextrous and pre-configured for efficiency, with customisation options available to match an artist’s preferred shortcuts.

Koji Yano, Senior Vice President of Wacom Branded Business, emphasised the importance of these enhancements: “As software evolves, the need for precision increases. When we started to redesign our flagship product, we began with the foundation of precision.” This approach has resulted in a new chipset that improves performance, while simultaneously making the tablet thinner and more compact.

Portability and wireless connectivity

Designed for professionals who work across multiple locations, the new Intuos Pro is available in three sizes, each featuring a 16:9 active area ratio to match modern displays. Despite offering a larger drawing surface, the overall footprint has been reduced, making the tablet lighter and more portable.

The small model, weighing 240 g (8 oz), measures 215 mm × 163 mm (8.5 in × 6.4 in) with an active area of 187 mm × 105 mm (7.4 in × 4.1 in). The medium and large sizes cater to artists who prefer a bigger workspace or multi-monitor setups.

All three models feature Bluetooth connectivity and provide up to 16 hours of wireless operation. Users can connect three devices simultaneously—one via USB and two via Bluetooth—and toggle between them using a dedicated mechanical switch. The tablet is compatible with both Windows and macOS and works seamlessly with industry-standard creative software.

For those seeking a different drawing experience, Wacom has partnered with Staedtler, Lamy, and Dr. Grip, offering a selection of third-party styluses that work without additional setup.

Software and security features

The Intuos Pro comes bundled with free trials of Clip Studio Paint, MASV, and Capture One, providing professional artists with essential creative tools. Additionally, Wacom includes Yuify, a proprietary security feature designed to protect artists’ work. Yuify integrates with software such as Adobe Photoshop, Rebelle 7, and Clip Studio Paint, embedding a persistent micromark in digital artwork to safeguard authorship—even against screenshots and downloads.

Wacom has also incorporated Wacom Bridge, a collaboration tool that enables pen and touch input across remote and local machines, making it easier for teams to work together in professional environments.

The Wacom Intuos Pro will be available in spring 2025 from Wacom eStore, Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H. Pricing is set as follows:
