Venus Optics has officially launched the Laowa 10-18mm f/4.505.6 FE zoom lens for full-frame Sony cameras, which will be priced at $849. Versions for Nikon Z and Canon RF mounts are also in development.
The Laowa 10-18mm f/4.505.6 FE claims to be the world’s widest full frame lens, offering a 102- to 130-degree field of view.
The new Laowa lens measures just 3.5 inches and weighs less than 500g, with a lens diameter of 70mm.
The Laowa 10-18mm f/4.505.6 FE zoom lens is composed of 14 elements in 10 groups, with two aspherical elements and one extra-low dispersion element.
It can focus as close as 15cm and offers a 0.25x magnification. As well as a front filter, the Laowa 10-18mm f/4.505.6 FE zoom also boasts a rear filter thread that can fit a 37mm UV/ND filter.
A custom 100mm magnetic filter holder system also allows you to mount up to three 100mm filters.
Venus Optics says the Laowa 10-18mm f/4.505.6 FE zoom will be released in late November.
The company says that it will launch Canon RF and Nikon Z mount versions of the Laowa 10-18mm f/4.505.6 FE zoom within a few months.
