Tamron has announced the 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD lens for Sony E mount cameras, with a price tag set for $729.
Boasting a wide zoom range with a fast aperture, Tamron’s new super tele-zoom is also small and lightweight for portability.
Tamron has also included an RXD stepping motor for quiet autofocus for both stills and video, as well as full-time manual focus override.
The 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD has a minimum focusing distance of 7.5 inches and offers a 1:3.1 maximum magnification for working with close-up subjects.
The Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD provides an equivalent focal range of 42-300mm, and Tamron says the new lens is compatible with Sony’s Direct Manual Focus functionality.
Other features include a moisture-resistant construction and a fluorine coating on the front element to protect against fingerprints.
