Profoto has updated its Profoto Camera app that allows you to shoot images on your smartphone using Profoto’s flashguns, adding support for raw shooting and new products.
The chief update in the new Profoto Camera app is ProfotoRAW, which lets users shoot images in DNG file format with all of the editing flexibility you would expect from using your traditional interchangeable lens camera.
Profoto has also added a new AirX Smart-TTL algorithm that now allows high-speed synch shooting directly from your smartphone with Profoto flashes.
New product support within the Profoto Camera app includes the Profoto A10, B10, B10 Plus, Pro-11, C1 and C1 Plus.
Other new features include auto colour and white balance tweaks to the existing algorithm to help better balance ambient and flash lighting for more natural whites and colour tones. There’s also a new Classic mode in which you can control both the camera and the flash settings.
The Profoto Camera app is available for iOS and Android devices.
