Vivo V70 launches globally with ZEISS telephoto

Vivo has announced the launch of the vivo V70, another feature-packed smartphone, however with the close partnership with ZEISS photography alongside the intelligent Vivo software is at the heart of this new phone. At the heart of the vivo V70 is a 50 MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera built around a 1/1.95-inch ultra-sensing sensor with optical image stabilisation. The periscope-style design enables higher zoom levels without adding bulk, making it particularly suited to travel photography.

AI is of course dominatling the latest tech and here a dedicated AI Stage Mode works in tandem with AI Image Enhancement and AI Style Portrait Technology to enable the capture of 10x zoom images of performers, while ZEISS Multifocal Portrait options, including 85 mm Sonnar Style and 100 mm Planar Style bokeh effects, expand creative flexibility. While Vivo has focused in on the stage, it works equally well for sports and wildlife, anything where a good zoom is needed.

The rear camera array also includes a 50 MP ZEISS OIS Main Camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and an 8 MP ZEISS Ultra Wide-Angle Camera. On the front, a 50 MP ZEISS Group Selfie Camera with autofocus aims to ensure sharp results for both individual and group portraits . For the first time in the V series, 4K 60 fps video recording is supported, complemented by an AI Audio Noise Eraser for cleaner sound in post-production .

Beyond capture, the V70 leans heavily into AI-powered editing. Tools such as AI Magic Weather, AI Magic Landscape and AI Retouch allow users to adjust skies, remove passersby, expand images and fine-tune colour directly on the device. Physically, the handset adopts an Aerospace-Grade Aluminium Alloy frame and a flat 6.59-inch 1.5K Ultra Clear OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1.25 mm ultra-thin bezels . A 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor sits beneath the display for secure unlocking. The new Golden Hour colourway features a textured Sunset Glow Design, joined by Alpine Gray, Sandalwood Brown, Canary Yellow and Authentic Black finishes .

Durability is another focus, with IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance and drop protection rated up to 1.8 metres . Internally, LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.1 storage and a 4200 mm² vapour chamber support sustained performance, while a 6500 mAh BlueVolt battery with 90W FlashCharge promises rapid top-ups .

OriginOS 6 introduces new AI-driven productivity tools, including AI Search, AI Creation and AI Captions, alongside enhanced privacy features such as Private Space. vivo also commits to multiple years of OS and security updates, underscoring the V70’s long-term proposition .
