Fujifilm has just announced the instax mini LiPlay+, the latest generation of its hybrid instant camera series. This new Instax release is an update to the original LiPlay that we saw back in 2019, however, now building on the foundations of the mini LiPlay+ this new camera introduces a suite of new features designed to bring a more interactive and creative experience to instant photography.
The new LiPlay will be available in two colour schemes including Sand Beige and Midnight Blue. Alongside the new colours there are also a host of upgrades, including dual cameras, Bluetooth app integration, and new audio features that bring printed photos to life in innovative ways.
At the heart of the new model is the instax mini LiPlay+ smartphone app, offering full remote camera control, smartphone-to-camera printing, and a host of image editing tools. You can now frame your shots, apply sticker icons, overlay text, and personalise prints before they even leave the camera.
For the first time in the series, the mini LiPlay+ features dual camera functionality, a main camera and a wide-angle selfie lens, enabling new creative compositions. A standout new feature is Layered Photo Mode, which combines images from both front and rear cameras to produce photos with depth, blending foreground and background subjects in a single frame.
The camera also offers multiple shooting modes including instax-Rich and instax-Natural, along with built-in filters, flash control, and self-timers (2s and 10s) for greater flexibility in any shooting situation.
Perhaps the most innovative feature is the inclusion of sound recording into the instant photography experience.
If you’re wondering how this new sound feature works, as I certainly was, with instax Sound Print, you can record 3-second audio clips that are embedded in their prints via QR code. Scanning the QR code with a smartphone plays back the audio, adding a uniquely personal touch to every image. Additionally, the new instax Sound Album feature creates animated photo albums complete with music and visual effects for sharing or saving digitally.
Coinciding with the camera’s launch is a new film option: instax mini Soft Glitter instant film, which surrounds images with soft, shimmering gold-accented frames, adding an elegant finish to physical prints.

The instax mini LiPlay+™ will be available in the UK from 30 October 2025, priced at £189.99, including VAT. A matching protective case will be sold separately for £29.99. The new instax mini Soft Glitter instant film will also be released on the same date at a suggested price of £8.99 per 10-exposure pack.
