DJI has officially unveiled the Osmo Mobile 8, its most advanced smartphone gimbal to date, on 5 November 2025. This new flagship model introduces intelligent subject tracking, full 360° horizontal pan rotation, and broad compatibility with iPhone and Android devices. Designed to enhance mobile content creation, the Osmo Mobile 8 offers intuitive controls, robust image stabilisation, and professional-grade features for vloggers, livestreamers, and content creators alike.
At the core of the Osmo Mobile 8 is DJI’s seventh-generation three-axis stabilisation technology, ensuring ultra-smooth footage even during dynamic movement. For the first time in the Osmo Mobile series, the pan axis offers unlimited 360° horizontal rotation, allowing seamless panoramic shots and continuous tracking. This makes the gimbal a powerful tool for capturing immersive video in virtually any shooting scenario.
A standout feature of the Osmo Mobile 8 is its intelligent subject tracking, now expanded to include pets as well as people. Thanks to the new Multifunctional Module, users can track subjects using DJI’s proprietary ActiveTrack 7.0.1, Apple’s DockKit on iOS, or through magnetic tracking for native and livestreaming apps. The system offers three tracking methods and can handle complex multi-subject environments with ease. With Dual Lens Boost, the gimbal leverages both wide-angle and telephoto lenses simultaneously to maintain sharp focus on fast-moving subjects.
The Multifunctional Module also boosts production quality with an integrated fill light (eight levels of brightness and colour temperature) and a microphone receiver compatible with DJI Mic 3, Mic 2, and Mic Mini transmitters. These features, coupled with intuitive gesture controls, make it easy to record professional-looking content hands-free — whether you’re presenting solo, vlogging with friends, or capturing your pets’ antics.
Comfort and control are also prioritised. The ergonomic grip is redesigned for low-angle shooting, giving creators new compositional freedom. A built-in extension rod and tripod expands creative options, and the gimbal allows seamless switching between front and rear cameras. Notably, rear camera selfies are now possible with a triple-press of the trigger, offering high-resolution results and smooth transitions between perspectives.
Despite its feature-rich build, the Osmo Mobile 8 weighs just 370g and offers up to 10 hours of operation, even capable of charging a phone during use — ideal for on-the-go shooting, events, or livestreaming marathons.
