DJI has officially unveiled the DJI Matrice 400, a next-generation drone engineered to raise the bar for industrial and enterprise aerial missions. Announced via a press release on 9 June 2025, the Matrice 400 integrates cutting-edge AI capabilities, enhanced payload flexibility, and up to 85 minutes of flight time—significantly expanding the scope of drone-based operations in sectors like energy, public safety, surveying, and infrastructure inspection.
Designed as a successor to the widely used Matrice 350, the new platform incorporates a robust dual-battery system and compatibility with DJI’s latest Zenmuse and Lidar payloads, including the Zenmuse H30 series and L2. One of its standout features is DJI’s O3 Enterprise Transmission system, providing triple-channel 1080p video and seamless communication at distances up to 20 km. This, coupled with support for DJI’s RC Plus remote controller and an optimised pilot interface, ensures operational confidence even in challenging environments.
The Matrice 400 supports autonomous flight capabilities via DJI FlightHub 2 and the upgraded DJI Dock 2, enabling 24/7 unmanned aerial deployments. AI Spot Check enhances inspection efficiency by enabling repeatable and precise automated image capture. Meanwhile, the aircraft’s IP55 weather rating, improved wind resistance, and GNSS + RTK positioning technology guarantee stable and accurate performance across varied terrains.
Enterprises can also take advantage of DJI’s cloud API and payload SDK support, making the Matrice 400 highly customisable for specific mission profiles. Whether deployed for firefighting coordination, powerline monitoring, or construction site mapping, the drone provides the flexibility and intelligence needed for modern aerial workflows.
