Panasonic announces firmware updates for Lumix G9, GH5S and BGH1

Panasonic has announced new firmware updates for its Lumix G9, GH5S and BGH1 cameras that enhance their raw video capability and more.

Firmware version 2.2 for the Panasonic GH5S and firmware version 2.3 for the Panasonic BGH1 mean that raw video data can now be output over HDMI to save Blackmagic RAW on
the Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR.

V-Log L or Rec.709 can also now be selected on the external monitor through SDI during RAW output. For the GH5S, shooting assist functions including V-Log L View Assist, WFM (Wave Form Monitor), Vector Scope and Zebra Pattern can be used during raw output.

For the BGH1, shooting assist functions including V-Log L View Assist, Luminance Spot Meter and Zebra Pattern can be used during raw output.

Focus Ring Control functionality has also been added for both cameras, and with the BGH1 it is possible to assign HDMI raw data output to the Fn button.

All three Panasonic firmware updates will be available to download here from 4 November.
