Macphun has revealed that it will release an alternative software to Adobe Lightroom in 2018.
Just a day after Adobe issued a massive update to Lightroom and its entire Creative Cloud platform, software-maker Macphun has said it is working on a digital asset manager that will operate in a similar fashion to Lightroom by working across both hard drives and cloud platforms.
Macphun says digital asset manager will be a free update to its Luminar 2018 software.
The company, which also makes Aurora HDR software, released a short teaser video illustrating the platform that’s in development.
Not much else is known at this stage. Macphun says more details will be revealed in time.
The company does say, however, that users will be able to operate Macphun’s new data asset manager alongside Lightroom in order to see which software best suits their needs. Which suggests confidence from Macphun that it has a superior product in development.
