Irix has announced a 45mm f/1.4 lens designed for use with Nikon F, Canon EF and Pentax K lens mounts.

With its fast f/1.4 aperture, the new Irix lens should provide smooth bokeh effects, aided by a nine-blade aperture ring.

The Irix 45mm f/1.4 also boasts a metal construction, which is weather resistant.

The manual focus lens is Irix’s fourth prime in its range, joining its 11mm, 15mm and 150mm macro siblings. The Irix 45mm f/1.4 is also the stills sibling of the company’s Cine 45mm T1.5 optic, announced in autumn 2019.

Other features include an anti-scratch surface, a focus lock switch and a 77mm filter ring.

An Irix 45mm f/1.4 price tag has yet to be announced at the time of writing.
