Fujifilm has announced the Fujinon GF35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR, price tag £849 / $999, a new palm-size lens that is the smallest and lightest in its GF zoom series.
The compact, lightweight GF35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR weighs just 390g and measures 73.mm when retracted, 96.4mm when used at its wide-angle end and 95.7mm at its tele end.
The new GF lens covers an equivalent focal length in 35mm of 28-55mm and offers a minimum working distance of 35cm across its zoom range. This enables close-up shots of your subject approximately 25cm from the front element of the lens.
The GF35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR is comprised of 11 elements in nine groups, which includes one aspherical element and two ED elements.
The focusing elements in the GF35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR are driven by a stepping motor for fast, accurate AF performance. They also promise low noise during operation, making the lens suitable for filming video.
The new GF35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR also supports Fujifilm’s Face / Eye Detection AF modes, promising to achieve focus as quickly as 0.13secs.
Fujifilm says the lens barrel is also weather-sealed at nine locations and can operate in temperatures as low as -10C.
The Fujinon GF35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR release date will be in late November 2021.
