The number of uploads to Flickr of images from DSLR cameras increased sharply in 2017, according to new figures released by the photo sharing platform.

Flicks says that 33% of the images its users uploaded in the past year came from DSLRs, up from 25% in 2016.

Smartphones again accounted for half of all Flickr uploads at 50%, up slightly from 48% in 2016. Point-and-shoot cameras accounted for 12%, down sharply from 21% in 2016, highlighting how much improved smartphone cameras are hurting that market.

Meanwhile, mirrorless cameras remained at just 4% of all images uploaded to Flickr for the third year running.

Ranking the devices, Apple unsurprisingly dominates. The iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone 5s hold the top three spots, respectively.

After Apple, Canon was the second most pervasive brand on Flickr, accounting for 23% of the platform’s top 100 devices – with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III placing highest at 9th.

Nikon was the third highest brand at 18%.
