AstrHori has launched the AH-M1 Light Meter, which is an accessory designed for old cameras, bringing the ease of modern technology to vintage photography enthusiasts.
The AH-M1 Light Meter is capable of continuously tracking changing light values in real time. It offers two metering modes, A (Aperture) and T (Time), to provide either the correct aperture value or shutter speed based on known ISO sensitivity, ensuring the light intensity is always perfect for each shot.
What sets the AH-M1 apart is its adjustable cold shoe position, making it compatible with various old cameras, even those with dials or obstacles around the cold shoe mount. This adjustability is achieved using the included L-shaped hex wrench, allowing users to position the meter on the left, right, centre, or even inverted.
The light meter is equipped with a 120mAh lithium battery, capable of measuring light for about 12 hours continuously. It features a USB-Type-C charging port and can be fully charged in approximately 40 minutes using a 5V power source.
The 0.66-inch electronic display screen is another highlight, showing real-time exposure parameters such as exposure value, exposure compensation, shutter speed, aperture value, ISO, and battery level. It also displays aperture/shutter priority (A/T), lock icon, and loop mode, making it incredibly user-friendly.
Designed for efficiency, the AH-M1 enters a low-power sleep state after 10 or 25 seconds of inactivity and automatically shuts down after about 3 hours of sleep.
AstrHori’s AH-M1 Light Meter is a testament to the brand’s commitment to enriching the photography experience, especially for lovers of vintage cameras. It’s a perfect blend of the old and the new, designed to make every shot with a vintage camera as precise and effortless as with modern equipment.
