Insta360’s Link 2 Pro webcams get an Arctic White finish — and a teleprompter

Insta360 has released Arctic White editions of its flagship webcams, the Link 2 Pro and Link 2C Pro. A new colour is not usually much of a story — but tucked into the same announcement are several genuinely new software features that make these more interesting than the finish suggests. The hardware, briefly

Both webcams use a 1/1.3-inch sensor, which is considerably larger than the sensors in most webcams and the main reason they hold up in poor light where cheaper cameras turn to mush. Dual Native ISO helps in difficult lighting and HDR handles scenes with strong highlights and shadows — a window behind you, typically, which is the classic ruin of a home-office setup.

The Link 2 Pro adds a 2-axis gimbal with AI tracking that physically follows you as you move, while the Link 2C Pro delivers the same imaging in a fixed body with software-based Auto Framing. Both include an audio system with AI noise reduction and four pickup modes.

The software is the more interesting part

Three additions stand out for anyone presenting or recording to camera.

A new Teleprompter in Link Controller keeps scripts and talking points next to the camera while you record — which solves the eyeline problem that makes so much presenter footage look shifty, without buying a dedicated prompter rig.

Custom Overlays allow text, images and video to be added directly through Link Controller, useful for branded content and livestreams without running separate production software.

And integration with Insta360 InSight brings transcription, summaries and key takeaways to meetings. There is also support for Elgato Stream Deck and WaveLink Pro, which matters if you already run a streaming setup and want physical control.

For photographers and filmmakers, the case here is fairly specific: client calls, tutorial recording, behind-the-scenes streaming and course delivery. A webcam with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and a teleprompter is a sensible piece of kit if you teach or present regularly — and rather better value than pressing a mirrorless body into service as a webcam and tying it up all day.
