Glyph has started shipping the Capture+ CFexpress Type B USB4 Memory Card Reader, a high-speed card reader designed for photographers, filmmakers and content creators working with large stills and video files. The reader is listed as “Now Shipping!” on Glyph’s official product page, with the company positioning it as a production-focused solution for fast card offloads and direct editing workflows.
For anyone shooting high-resolution RAW stills, burst sequences, 8K video or heavier cinema formats, the appeal here is fairly obvious. CFexpress Type B cards are already a staple in many professional cameras, but the card itself is only one part of the workflow. A slow or thermally limited reader can still turn the end of a shoot into a waiting game. Glyph says this USB4 reader delivers transfer speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s, with read and write performance aimed at keeping post-production moving more quickly.
The other key feature is Glyph’s SteadyIO technology. According to the company, this is designed to maintain consistent transfer speeds during large sustained offloads, rather than dropping performance once heat builds up. That matters because real-world ingest often involves hundreds of gigabytes at a time, not just a quick file copy for a speed test.
