After teasing an imminent launch in later July, Antigravity has finally unveiled its debut product, the Antigravity A1. This compact drone is the world’s first to offer built-in 8K 360-degree capture. The drone itself has been designed in collaboration with Insta360 along with other third-party partners, and brings something new to the drone market that is presently dominated by DJI, who interestingly has also just launched it’s first 360º camera the DJI OSMO 360.
At the core of the A1 is a dual-lens camera system mounted on the top and bottom of the fuselage, much like we’ve seen with the insta360 cameras, enabling seamless environmental capture without blind spots. The new drone also features advanced stitching technology that like the invisble stick technology that we see with the standard 360º cameras helps to render the drone invisible in both live view and recorded footage, enabling you to focus solely on the scene.

The new 360º drone looks impressive, but then that isn’t all for this new aerial imaging machine, it also offers the new Antigravity Vision goggles and Grip controller. These two new accessories enable you. to navigate using intuitive hand gestures while using the headset to enjoying complete 360-degree head-tracked viewing. In the UK there is the matter of line of sight when flying so if you are thinking that this all looks like a great idea, then do consider that you’ll also need a watcher with you as you fly to keep an eye out for obstacles and danger. Essentially with the separation of flight control and camera perspective it means you can look one way while flying in another, and hopefully not getting to disorientated in the process.

To help adhere to what seem to be the ever increasing regulations and requirement the new drone comes in at just 249g. This weight means the the Antigravity A1 meets the regulatory requirements for licence-free operation in many regions, including the UK, although you do still need to take the drone test. The Antigravity A1’s portability and ease of use should make it a great option if you are a first-time pilot, traveller, or content creator. One of the aspects of the new drone that I do like the look of is the post-production flexibility, as like the Insta360 cameras every angle captured, footage can be reframed into different aspect ratios without effecting the resolution. Effects such as Tiny Planet, horizon flips, and dynamic FPV-style shots should all be possible without too much effort, check out the Antigravity A1 video below.

Safety is also a priority. The drone includes a return-to-home function and payload detection to prevent misuse. “We didn’t want to just build another drone,” said BC Nie, Head of Marketing at Antigravity. “A1 is the first step in reimagining flight as something anyone can enjoy, safe, intuitive, expressive, and endlessly creative.”
On a last note, Antigravity is inviting global creators to join its co-creation project, offering selected participants pre-production units and the chance to influence the retail model, along with a share of a $20,000 reward pool. Applications are open at www.antigravity.tech ahead of the A1’s global launch in January 2026. So I’m hopefully in and will post my video soon!
