ZY Optics has announced the Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95, price tag $799, designed for use with Canon EF mount cameras.
The new 50mm lens is the only f/0.95 aperture lens designed for DSLR cameras. ZY Optics says that it is unable to make a Nikon version due to the large size of the rear element.
A mirrorless version already exists for Sony FE, Canon RF and Nikon Z mounts.
The Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 features a different optical design from its mirrorless version and comprises 12 elements in six groups, with one piece of High Refractive Index and five Ultra-low Dispersion elements.
An 11-blade diaphragm helps produce soft bokeh, and the Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 offers a minimum focus distance of 0.65m and an 82mm filter thread.
