Yashica has introduced the new City Series digital cameras, the City 100 and City 200, designed to bring high-quality photography and videography to a broad audience. The cameras feature compact designs, powerful zoom capabilities, and a variety of creative functions aimed at enthusiasts and casual users alike.
The Yashica City 100 comes equipped with a 3x optical zoom, making it a practical choice for everyday photography. Meanwhile, the City 200 offers a more powerful 10x optical zoom, ideal for capturing distant subjects in sharp detail. Both models support autofocus with subject detection, manual focus, and built-in scene modes such as Beauty Mode, Fish Eye Effect, and 15 creative filters, including Retro and Vintage styles.
For video recording, the City Series offers resolutions ranging from 5K at 30fps to HD 720p at 120fps, while still images can be captured at an impressive 72MP resolution. The cameras also feature a 2.8-inch flip-up screen with a 180-degree rotation, catering to vloggers and selfie enthusiasts. Storage is expandable with Micro SD/TF cards up to 256GB (U3, Class 10 or higher).
Connectivity is another strong point, with built-in Wi-Fi and a USB-C port for charging. Both models also feature a hot shoe mount for external accessories. The City Series will be available in black and white, with the City 100 launching in February 2025 for $209 (£165) and the City 200 following in March 2025 for $249 (£195).
