Today the all-new XEEN CF 135mm T2.2 lens, designed for PL, Canon EF and Sony E mount full-frame cameras and priced at £1,716 (€1,991) plus VAT, is being announced at the IBC Exhibition.
The new Cine lens joins the XEEN CF line-up, which now comprises six popular focal lengths: 16mm T2.6, 24mm T1.5, 35mm T1.5, 50mm T1.5, 85mm T1.5, and now the new 135mm T2.2. The lens has been designed to incorporate fast T-stop values while providing excellent image quality and features that make these lenses user-friendly for both Cine and hybrid shooters.

Complimenting the new wave of hybrid filmmakers and the changing industry, the new XEEN CF 135mm T2.2 features part carbon fibre construction to help keep weight down whilst maintaining overall durability. This means that alongside the mount options, the weight means that this lens is equally at home on large camcorders and smaller mirrorless cameras.
Like the Canon EOS R5 C shooting 8K video, this lens offers excellent resolution and stunning bokeh with the bright T2.2 aperture.
Samyang has also coated the optics with their X-Coating technology that helps to control the reflection of the light within the lens and creates a distinctive look to utilise flares and ghosting to create dramatic effects.
Ensuring wide compatibility, the front aperture is 95mm, and the focus and aperture ring gear positions are unified, ensuring switching between lenses on set is quick and easy. Another design feature is the ultra-bright luminous front which helps its use in dark environments.
The entire XEEN CF range will be on show at the IBC exhibition in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from 9th to 12th September 2022, booth number 12.G44.
