Smartphone manufacturer vivo has just announced the company’s latest flagship model, the X80. This new Smartphone features next level cinematic photography features and has been created in collaboration with ZEISS.

The vivo X80 is a new series and will consist of two models; the vivo X80 and the vivo X80 Pro which will be available in black and Urban Blue.

“X80 series demonstrates vivo’s constant pursuit of user-oriented innovation and premium mobile imaging technology. In successive collaboration with ZEISS, a global leader in optics and optoelectronics, we are once again delivering excellent experiences to users who can”
vivo Mobile Communication Co., Ltd. captures memories and creates quality photographs and videos with more dynamics and perspectives,” said Spark Ni, Senior Vice President and CMO of vivo.

The vivo X80 upgrades all features compared with vivo’s previous releases with a special focus on image capture potential. The collaboration with ZEISS reinforces this investment into imaging with features such as the ZEISS Cinematic video bokeh that helps to create oval bokeh effects in the film standard 2.39:1 aspect ratio.

Users of the vivo X80 are not restricted to accessing the bokeh effects solely in cinematic mode. They can choose the standard bokeh in video when shooting portraits or other subjects where they want the effect.

The collaboration with ZEISS has resulted in several new effects, such as the all-new portrait, Natural Color 2.0 and Pure Night View. The Smartphone also adds support for XDR Photo, which will help improve clarity and helps to reproduce tones that reflect what the eye sees.

All of the lenses mounted on the rear of the camera achieved compliance with ZEISS T* Coating. This helps to enhance light transmission through the glass and reduces night reflections helping to minimise the effects of flare and ghosting.

When it comes to the imaging technology inside the Smartphone, on the front is a 32MP camera, while on the rear are four cameras. These consist of a 50MP ultra sensing camera with a GNV sensor and optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 48MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP gimbal portrait camera, and an 8MP periscope camera.

The 12MP camera features gimbal support and is specially designed for shooting video. The X80 model features the new Sony IMX866 sensor that improves low-light performance, amongst other imaging upgrades.

We hope to bring you a full review of the new vivo X80 Pro imaging smartphone soon. For now, for more information, check out www.vivo.com.
