Venus Optics has announced three new ultra-wide cine lenses, introducing the Laowa 7.5mm T2.1, Laowa 9mm T2.9 Zero-D and Laowa 15mm T2.1 Zero-D optics.
The Laowa 7.5mm T2.1 Cine is compatible with Micro Four Thirds cameras and offers a 110-degree angle of view.
Weighing just 226g, the Laowa 7.5mm T2.1 is lightweight and portable and can focus as close as 12cm from the subject.
The Laowa 9mm T2.9 Zero-D also weighs 226g and is designed for Super35 cameras. It offers a 113-degree field of view can focus as close as 12cm from the subject.
The Laowa 15mm T2.1 Zero-D is heavier, at 540g, and offers a minimum focusing distance of 15cm. Designed for use with full-frame cameras, it offers a 110-degree field of view and is compatible with Sony FE mount cameras.
Venus Optics says that Nikon Z, Canon RF and Leica L mount versions will be launched later this year.
Both the 9mm and 15mm Zero-D lenses promise ‘close to zero’ distortion at infinity distance.
The Laowa 7.5mm T2.1 price tag is $599, and the Laowa 9mm T2.9 price tag is the same. The Laowa 15mm T2.1 price will be $1,199. All of the new Laowa lenses are available for purchase now.
