Venus Optics has announced a new fisheye lens, introducing the Laowa 11mm f/4.5 FF RL, priced from $699.
The new Laowa 11mm f/4.5 FF RL is designed for use with full-frame cameras and is compatible with Leica M, Sony FE, Nikon Z and L mount cameras.
The new compact Laowa lens features a 126-degree angle of view and weighs just 254g.
The Laowa 11mm f/4.5 is aimed at landscape, travel and interior photographers and offers a 62mm filter thread for screw-in filters; however, Venus Optics has also announced a new 100mm magnetic filter holder for use with slide-in filters.
The Laowa 11mm f/4.5 FF RL is comprised of 14 elements in 10 groups, of which there are two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to keep distortion and chromatic aberrations at bay.
The new Venus Optics lens also offers a close focusing distance of just 19cm from subject to sensor. With the lens’s ultra-wide angle this allows you to create macro-style images.
Venus Optics says the Laowa 11mm f/4.5 FF RL supports rangefinder coupling on Leica M cameras. For other mounts, there is a focusing tab to improve stability.
The Venus Optics Laowa 11mm f/4.5 FF RL will be released from mid-September.
