Venus Optics has announced the Laowa 9mm f/5.6 FF RL, price tag from $799, which the company is calling the world’s widest rectilinear lens for full frame cameras.
Offering a 135-degree angle of view, the new Laowa lens is the widest non-fisheye for full-frame mirrorless cameras.
The Laowa 9mm f/5.6 FF RL comes in Sony FE, Nikon Z, Leica M and L mounts and is aimed at landscape photographers as well as those shooting interiors, such as travel or architectural photographers.
The Laowa 9mm f/5.6 FF RL measures just 2.4 inches long and weighs 350g, with a lens diameter of 60mm. Users can focus as close as 12cm from the subject.
Inside the Laowa 9mm f/5.6 FF RL are 14 elements in 10 groups, of which two are aspherical elements and two more are extra-low dispersion elements.
The Laowa 9mm f/5.6 FF RL price tag starts at $799 for the Sony FE, Nikon Z and L mount versions, while the Leica M mount model is priced at $899.
