Tamron has announced the 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD high-speed telephoto zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame cameras.
Boasting a compact and lightweight design, the Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD weighs just 815g and measures 149mm long.
The new Tamron lens is compatible with camera-specific modes such as Sony’s Eye AF and Fast Hybrid AF. It also employs Tamron’s VXD linear motor focus mechanism for faster, quieter AF performance.
Minimum object distance is 33.5 inches, and the 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD is also moisture-resistant with a fluorine coating.
No price information for the 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD has been revealed, but Tamron says a release date is planned for spring 2020.
