Tamron has announced the development of the 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD, the world’s first all-in-one zoom lens for Sony E and Fujifilm X mounts.
Tamron launched the Sony E-mount 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD back in 2018 and is expanding the line with the 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD.
Offering a 16.6x zoom ratio (the first for an APS-C mirrorless camera zoom lens), the Tamron 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD covers a zoom range of 27mm to 450mm (full-frame equivalent) making it ideal for many types of photography.
The Tamron 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD will use Tamron’s Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive (VXD) linear focus mechanism for quiet AF performance. It also offers a close focusing distance of just 0.15m at the wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.
Other features include Vibration Compensation, a 67mm filter thread and a moisture-resistant design.
Tamron says the 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD for Fujifilm X mount will be released at the end of 2021.
“Tamron launched the Sony E-mount version back in 2018” Um, no they didn’t…
Sorry for the slip, we’ve corrected it now.
