Tamron has announced the development of a new 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD lens for full-frame DSLR cameras, which it says will be the world’s lightest telephoto zoom in its class.
Weighing in at 1,115g, the Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD achieves its low weight from a magnesium material in its lens barrel.
The Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD will also employ high-speed Dual Micro-Processing Units that Tamron says improves the lens’s Vibration Compensation performance.
The new Tamron lens’s optical design includes three Low Dispersion lens elements to help reduce chromatic aberration, and Tamron’s eBAND Coating to reduce reflections.
The Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 is compatible with Tamron’s 1.4X tele converter that multiplies the lens’s focal length, and the Tamron TAP-in ConsoleTM which enables lens customisations for focus adjustments, VC mechanism adjustments and more.
Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD price information and a release date will be confirmed at a later date, Tamron has said.
