Sony has revealed that its 100-megapixel medium format sensor will be ready in 2018 and will be capable of recording 4K and 8K video.

Sony says its 44×33 medium format sensor will capture 4K video at 30fps and 8K video at 12fps.

Officially announced as a development project back in April 2017, it’s widely assumed that Sensory IMX461 will form the heart of a Fuji GFX 100S whenever Fujifilm sees fit to update its new medium format range.
