Sony has announced a new A-mount to E-mount adapter, introducing the LA-EA5 with a price tag of $248.
Sony’s new LA-EA5 Adapter allows you to use Sony A-mount lenses on E-mount mirrorless camera bodies while maintaining full lens performance.
The LA-EA5 adapter maintains autofocus and auto-exposure, supports in-camera correction features and is compatible with phase detection AF.
The support for phase detection AF means the new Sony lens mount adapter can support features like Real-time Tracking and Eye AF functions. It can also support AF/AE tracking in burst modes.
AF and AE tracking are even supported with lenses lacking an internal motor when working with the Sony A7R IV and A6600 cameras.
Other features include a full electronic design that retains Exif data, and the lack of optical components means the adapter has no effect on image quality.
