SmallRig has expanded its line of professional lighting solutions with the release of the RC 100C COB LED Video Light Lite Version, a compact and affordable daylight-balanced light aimed at independent filmmakers, content creators, and studio photographers. Designed to balance portability with performance, the RC 100C Lite delivers a powerful 120W output while maintaining a lightweight and accessible form factor.
Unlike the standard RC 100C, the Lite version is built with a streamlined body, sacrificing built-in wireless connectivity in favour of cost and simplicity. Despite the reduction in features, SmallRig retains the essentials that make the RC series popular—namely, high output, accurate colour, and robust construction. The light emits a daylight-balanced 5600K beam with a claimed output of 3,800 lux at one metre (bare bulb), and up to 97,000 lux when paired with the included hyper reflector.
Colour accuracy is another highlight, with a CRI of 96+ and a TLCI of 97+, ensuring true-to-life skin tones and colour rendering for video productions and still photography. The unit also offers nine built-in lighting effects—including paparazzi, lightning, and TV flicker—ideal for adding production value to scenes with minimal setup.
The RC 100C Lite is controlled manually via a rear panel dial and small display, and supports DC input via the included AC adapter. Though the Lite version omits built-in Bluetooth or app control, it remains compatible with SmallRig’s ecosystem via separate control accessories.
