SmallRig, in collaboration with Iddo Genuth, co-founder and editor of LensVid.com, has launched the SmallRig x LensVid mini L-shaped Mount Plate Kit. This innovative product is the result of combining Iddo’s professional insights with SmallRig’s technical expertise. Aimed at photographers and videographers, this kit simplifies the process of attaching various devices and accessories to camera cages.
The mini L-shaped Mount Plate Kit is an ultra-compact solution designed to mount wireless image transmitters, monitors, V-mount battery plates, and more, either flush with or at a 90° angle to your camera. This interference-free design is ideal for those looking to maintain a streamlined and functional setup.
Key features include built-in retractable locating pins and the flexibility to switch between 1/4”-20 screws and 3/8”-16 screws. This adaptability makes the mounting plate highly compatible with various cage locations and installation interfaces. Priced at an affordable $28.9 USD, the kit comprises four 1/4″ to 3/8″ stainless steel threaded adapters, a set of screws for versatility, a flat screwdriver, and two L-shaped mount plates.
The Mount Plates support four attachment solutions: 1/4”-20 threaded hole, 1/4”-20 locating hole, 3/8”-16 threaded hole, and ARRI 3/8”-16 locating hole. This range of options ensures that photographers and videographers can handle any mounting situation. Additionally, the plates feature anti-slip silicone pads, protecting the camera from scratches and ensuring secure attachment to SmallRig and other compatible cage systems. Despite weighing only 32g/1.1oz, these aluminum alloy mount plates boast an impressive load-bearing capacity of 1.2kg/2.6lb, easily supporting most accessories while keeping the gear compact.
