SIGMA has announced the 15mm F1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye, price tag £1,859, what the company calls the world’s first full-frame F1.4 diagonal fisheye lens.
With a release date set for March 14, the SIGMA 15mm F1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye offers an expansive 180° angle-of-view. SIGMA says it has been meticulously designed to deliver high-resolution images across the entire frame, even when shooting at its widest aperture of F1.4.
The construction of the lens includes 21 glass elements in 15 groups, incorporating 4 FLD and 3 SLD low dispersion glass elements to effectively minimise sagittal coma flare and other aberrations. This precision ensures that bright points of light remain sharp across all apertures, making the lens particularly well-suited for astrophotography.
Additionally, the lens features a range of professional-grade attributes tailored to photographers and filmmakers. Among these features are a rear filter holder compatible with gel-type ND filters and a lens heater retainer, designed to prevent condensation build-up on the front element in cold conditions.
The new SIGMA lens also includes a unique manual focus lock switch, which disables the focus ring to maintain focus at infinity – a crucial advantage for astrophotography.
Moreover, the lens is equipped with SIGMA’s High-response Linear Actuator (HLA) motor, ensuring fast, smooth, and precise autofocus performance. It also supports lens aberration correction on supported cameras, further enhancing image quality. The lens’s design incorporates weather-resistant construction, making it durable enough to handle various shooting environments.
The SIGMA 15mm F1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye is available in L-Mount and Sony E-mount, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of mirrorless camera systems.
